Partner Spotlight: Infosys

The University of Cambridge and Infosys Technologies Ltd have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to pave the way for collaborative research ventures in the areas of engineering, management and business, architecture and pharma.

The MoU was signed by Mr Narayana Murthy, Chairman of the Board and Chief Mentor, Infosys Technologies and Professor Alison Richard, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cambridge at the company's Bangalore headquarters during her visit to India in January 2009.

The University of Cambridge will explore this collaboration through its Department of Engineering, Judge Business School Centre for India & Global Business, Department of Architecture and School of Biological Sciences respectively. Through this MoU, Cambridge and Infosys seek to develop and implement key opportunities in these areas over the next three years.

Speaking about the partnership, Mr Murthy said, "We are delighted to announce this collaboration with Cambridge University. This MoU marks the start of a joint effort between one of the finest universities in the world and Infosys."

Commenting on the partnership, Professor Richard said: "I am very pleased to be launching this partnership with Infosys during our 800th anniversary year. The association of Cambridge with large Indian corporations continues to grow, as part of a larger picture of increased collaboration between academia and industry."
